Women are likely to be more adventurous in the bedroom as they age even if the number of nights ignited by passion may drop, suggests new research.

The findings are based on a study by University of Pittsburgh researchers who spoke to 39 women about how their s*x lives changed with age, Daily Mail reported on Thursday.

The confidence that comes with age may . a role in the increased satisfaction with s*x that the women — aged between 46 and 59 – reported, the study said.

“One of the most enlightening findings of this study was the large number of women who had successfully adapted to any negative changes by modifying their expectations regarding s*xual activity, putting more emphasis on the emotional and intimacy aspects of s*x, or adapting the s*x acts themselves,” the study’s lead author Holly Thomas was quoted as saying.

Some had adapted their lovemaking to compensate for age and menopause-. body changes and such adjustments included spending more time on foreplay, trying new s*xual positions and putting more emphasis on intimacy than passion, the report said.

As the women were around the age of menopause, they suffered loss of libido and other changes . to hormonal fluctuations of the menopause.

However, while many blamed their low s*x drive on stressful jobs or family life or on a rocky relationship, quite a few of them said their libido was much higher than that of their spouse.
