2021 MOBOS Awards: Wizkid bags best international act, best African act awards
Nigerian Pop Star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid won two awards at 2021 MOBO awards, the award show which held on Sunday, December 5th, 2021 at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
The ‘Joro’ crooner won the award for Best African Act beating artists such as Burna Boy, Davido, CKay, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Tems, NSG, King Promise, and Ayra Starr.
He also took home the award for Best International Act beating artists like Ye West, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, Polo G, Rema, Skillibeng, and Young Stoner Life (Young Thug & Gunna).
The MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin) is an annual British music award presentation honouring achievements in “music of black origin”, including Hip Hop, Grime, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, and African music.
Hosted by British-Zimbabwean Comedian, Munya Chawawa and Little Mix member, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, it featured live performances by Ghetts, Pa Salieu, Stefflon Don and Ms Banks, Bree Runway, Potter Payper, Tems, NSG and Enny.
