2023: I’m in politics to correct leadership ills – Adebayo

Factual Pursuit of Truth for Progress
Presidential aspirant, Prince Adewole Adebayo, believes politics is the only thing essentially wrong with the country.
According to the renowned legal practitioner, every other thing about the country is right.
The Social Democratic Party’s leading aspirant, therefore, said he delved into politics to correct this leadership deficit, availing himself as a patriot to make a difference.
Adebayo made this known on Thursday when he featured as a guest during the Nigerian Leadership Series, a live interactive session on YouTube organised by the Africa Leadership Group and hosted by Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.
The 50-year-old, who uses the campaign slogan ‘HopeForNigeria’, spoke on the theme ‘Nigeria: Hope in Positive Action’.
“I’m in politics because that is the only thing essentially wrong with the country at this point in time. Every other thing is right. The country is right, natural endowment is right and the people are well endowed,” he said.
“What we have, however, lacked is leadership. By constitution, leadership is derived through democracy. So if we are going to do that and politics is the process of leadership selection, we have to take part.
“For me as a patriot, it would be like a malpractice not to participate in politics at this point. Everything a citizen can do alone I have been doing. But that may not make any impact if we don’t participate in politics”.
Meanwhile, the SDP presidential hopeful has urged Nigerians to make sacrifices for the future we want to bequeath to the next generation.
He said this as part of his Good Friday message to the nation.
His words, “Happy Good Friday to all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria globally. What is good about Good Friday is the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ, including offering his love for the salvation of mankind.
“And this country has been made by the sacrifices of our heroes past, and we need to remember that we too, need to make sacrifices, not only today but for the future that we want to bequeath to generations unborn”.
