As the spring season heightens and your dress style fluctuates between temperatures, you may want to try out something that successfully keeps you an edge close to winter and subtly introduces you to the summer dress code. Dungarees can be the latest addition to your closet if you seek flexible spring outfit options. Seriously, they go with any style, are appropriate for a variety of events, and make getting ready in the morning a snap.
There’s no better season to experiment with fashion than spring when the weather is a combination of warm and chilly, allowing you to test out new outfits. Here’s a little bit of inspiration to keep you reading — you can experiment with your dungarees in a variety of ways ranging from casual to formal but all reeking of sheer sexiness! Not to forget, dungarees come in many shades too.
Now, as much as you’re excited to break out your summer classics in your dungarees, you may need to layer them a little bit, to maneuver the weather. Keep reading for how to style your dungaree this Spring.
Dungaree with a turtle neck sweater doesn’t look bad:
Getting ready for a cold day in spring? Layering your dungaree with a turtleneck sweater isn’t a bad idea at all. This may also be your new favorite weekend outfit. Who knows?
Top it up with a blazer:
Blazers worn with dungarees provide a classy casual touch to your ensemble. Instead of wearing just jeans and a T-shirt, try this cool combo that is both casual and sophisticated.
Throw on a thick jacket when the temps are chilly:
For a schoolgirl appearance, layer a thick jacket over your dungarees. For even chilly temps, add an extra layer, and a coo girl hairdo to finish the look.
Show some skin with off-shoulder tops:
The rule is simple: If you want to stand out, be unique. Off-shoulder tops are a great combo with dungarees and are very stylish. Layer an off-shoulder blouse over dungarees and wear it with heels to dress them up for the evening. A little addon here and there is really up for grabs!
Wear them dungarees over hoodies:
This is regarded as one of the more fashionable streetwear and is appropriate for random events, parties, and even a casual stroll. Make a pleasing contrast between your dungaree and your sweater. You can even initiate a pleasant contrast between your dungaree and your sweater by wearing a deeper color of one and a lighter color of the other.
Dungarees are essentially a DIY appearance that allows you to express yourself. Play around with colors, stripes, full sleeves, and short sleeves to discover the appearance that best suits you. From retro styling to casual rocking, these styles are well worth it if you’re a dungaree devotee. Don’t forget: Always hang around with some attitude!
Zimbabwean Model Nyasha Matonhodze is the Chosen Face for Fenty Beauty Africa Launch
On the 27th of May, 2022, Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty is set for launch in Africa, officially. For the start, Fenty Beauty will be rolled out in nine African countries including Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Rihanna surprised her Fenty Beauty fans last week (May, 10th) when she announced the launch, saying that she’s been waiting for such an incredible time. “I’ve been waiting for this moment!! @fentybeauty & @fentyskin are finally dropping in AFRICA!!!,” the mom-to-be captioned a post on Instagram, along with a stunning photo of herself wearing a white turtleneck top, matching headwear, and full-face makeup.
“Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe…we comin at ya May 27th and that’s just the beginning!!! #FentyAfrica.”
However, in keeping up with the brand’s inclusive ethos, the “Work” singer has chosen a Zimbabwean-British model, Nyasha Matonhodze, as the face of Fenty Beauty Africa’s global launch. Nyasha will work with the brand to front its products — be it on social media, billboards, or TV. As excited as she is, the 27-year-old model took to Instagram to share the exciting news while describing the opportunity as “particularly special.”
“I’ve had a lot of “pinch me” moments in my career, but I have to say this one hit differently,” the Zimbabwean beauty explained. “To be the face of @fentybeauty Africa’s global launch is one thing, but as a deeply proud Zim Girl and knowing this will be launching in Zimbabwe where my family and grandma are going to see it felt particularly special.”
She continued: “Colourism is still something we are healing from, but when beauty companies make an effort to cater for all shades it does genuinely make everyone feel included. Thank you @badgalriri I’m incredibly honoured to be apart of this campaign and most importantly it’s message.”
For starters, Nyasha Matonhodze isn’t a new face in the fashion and modeling industry. Having walked for prestigious brands, she’s been winning gigs here and there. Nyasha started her modeling career in 2010 at the age of 16 and walked for Louis Vuitton in October that same year. She’s fronted countless campaigns and walked for Loewe, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, Halpern, Dior, and Versace, just to name a few.
With her latest partnership with Fenty Beauty, she’s definitely going to take our money. After all, it’s Fenty Beauty!
Nana Akua Addo’s 2022 AMVCAs Dress Was Inspired By The Japanese “GEISHA”
It’s fair to say Nana Akua Addo has been knocking red carpet dressing out of the park. She’s not the one who does things by halves and we devotedly remained on our couches each time there’s a major red carpet event in Nigeria or Ghana just to see what the Ghanaian actress is wearing.
In honor of the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards which took place over the weekend (Saturday, May 14) in Lagos, Nana Akua lived up to her style icon status, showcasing her inimitably cool fashion sense. The actress was wearing a multicolored sleeveless dress with an imprinted Geisha face created by Cary Santiago, a designer from the Philippines. She wore the dress with full face makeup, nude lips, along with smokey eyes.
Sharing the photos on Instagram, Nana revealed her look was inspired by the Japanese Geisha and further explained the meaning of the word to her social media followers.
“A GEISHA,” . captioned while she posed inside a glass showcase. “Today , I exhibit the ART & CULTURE of JAPAN; THE GEISHA. The Japanese word GEISHA literally means “ART PERSON”. I embody ART in its Fullest, EXPRESSION ELEMENTS, COLORS, BEAUTY, GRACE and DISCIPLINE.”
She continued: “I am so honored to be wearing the JAPANESE GEISHA, an embodiment of WOMANHOOD, UNIQUE BEAUTY, GRACE and MYSTERY.”
This is however not the first time Nana is wearing a dress designed by Cary Santiago. If you keep up with Fashion Police Nigeria, the name does sound familiar. During the 2020 Glitz Style Awards, Nana did not just dress to impress but she scored a page on our stylebook for her stunning masterpiece. The dress was magical, first exhibited during TernoCon 2020 in the Philippines.
