6 Signs You’re Being Emotionally Abused By Your PartnerLifestyle News

The signs of physical abuse are pretty clear but when you’re being emotionally abused, you may not even be sure that’s what’s happening. And it can be as damaging as physical abuse, if not more.

What are the signs you’re being emotionally abused by your partner? Be sure to watch out for these red flags.

1. You walk on eggshells around him

Even though he’s not actually hitting you, you feel afraid of him and what he might say. So, you walk on eggshells around him and have a fear of disappointing him. And you overthink everything you do because you just do not want to risk his disapproval.

2. He distorts your reality

If you try talking to an emotionally abusive man about something he did that hurt you or made you feel a certain way, he will distort your reality. So, he confuses you by saying something along the lines of, “I never said that,” or “that’s not what really how it happened.” Therefore, you start to doubt what you know and wondering maybe the problem is you.

4. You feel stupid

When you’re around him, he makes you feel stupid and dumb. Hence, he belittles your achievements and you will soon start doubting your own abilities.
