7 New Songs You Should Be Bopping Your Head To

\"\"
It’s the weekend already. After all the rigours of the weekdays, it’s time to unwind and just relax. And as we all know, the Owambes do not come as frequently as we want them to again, thanks to the Gorgon, coronavirus.

\"Weekend

That’s why we are here; to serve you the best of songs to keep your weekend bubbling and alive. For this week, we’ve got a number of beautiful Nigerian songs to get you in the mood.

From the big players in the industry, to surprising features and upcoming acts, you’ll love all the spice on these songs.

1. DKT (Dis Kind Thing) by Oxlade.\"\"

Since the release of his EP, Oxygene, the lover boy has not had a track to his name, apart from a number of features. Well, this Afrobeats song produced by Spax is to remind you that when it comes to having a beautiful voice and powerful songwriting skill, especially when it comes to the subject of love, he does not disappoint.

DKT is a square peg in a square hole. The instrumental is a vibe on its own, combined with Oxlade’s voice and the offering of love in the lyrics, there’s very little you can do but swoon into his world.

2. Abracadabra by BOJ featuring Davido and Mr. Eazi\"\"

This is an Afrobeats, Dancehall-fusion song. If there’s anything BOJ never does wrong, it’s the hook. You can always expect the best from BOJ  when he has the hook. His voice is aptly tilted to perform wonders on the hook.

The song and the term ‘Abracadabra’ is a symbolism for sexual discourse. The innuendos here are proof of what the song truly means.

3. True Love by Yemi Alade\"\"

Produced by Vutek, this Afro-house, Gqom song has one of the most interesting entrance of a drum on a song. And then the other instruments join in blending with the adlibs and you just know you’re in for an interesting ride.

Alade comes in with her eclectic voice, deep enough to match the guitars playing in the instrumental and she sings about love and happiness.

4. Wickedest Wyne by Cracker Mallo and Fireboy DML\"\"

If like this writer, you’ve missed the union of Fireboy DML and Cracker Mallo, then this is the track for you. An Afro-Pop song about love and vanity, a woman’s curves and all the twists that can come from her body.

No doubt, Fireboy has always been a lover boy, but in this song we’re seeing a gradual switch to something deeper.

5. Koroba by Tiwa Savage\"\"

With the release of her album, Celia drawing closer, the ‘Dangerous Love’ singer on this Afro-Pop song takes a cursory gaze at the Nigerian political juggernauts and finds them guilty.

The satire song will definitely rank high on charts, because if the instrumental delivered with precision doesn’t get you, the lyrics will do the job. Koroba is a traditional African hairstyle.
