We Must Act Now to Prevent Avoidable Deaths, Atiku Speaks on Increasing COVID-19 cases

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has called on the Federal Government to collaborate with the state government in building field hospitals in each of the six geopolitical zones of the nation to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Nigeria had passed the 14,000  cases on Friday morning, with over 4,000 patients discharged while 387 deaths were recorded.

He took to his Twitter page and called for immediate action to prevent avoidable deaths. Read the series of his tweets below.

Even as restrictions are being lifted, Nigerians cannot afford to be complacent about #COVID19. Despite our best efforts, we continue to register an increased daily tally of new infections of the coronavirus.

I, therefore, urge the Federal Government and the states to collaborate by employing the services of the Nigerian Army Corps of Engineers to build, as a matter of emergency, field hospitals in each of the six geopolitical zones of the nation.
