Actress Yvonne Jegede: ”Marriage Is Not By Force… If You Can’t Submit, Marry Yourself”

Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede took to her Instagram page to share her thought on the issue of marriage and submission, particularly in this modern age where a lot of feminist organisations are clamoring for total equality with men and many women have become more independent.

According to . which Yvonne Jegede directed at the women folks, any woman who chooses to be married should submit herself completely to her husband, if not, she should simply leave and allow him find someone who would. For those who cannot imagine themselves taking orders from a man, she advised that they simply marry themselves and submit to themselves.

. reads:

Marriage is not by force, i repeat.. marriage is not by force

If you cannot see yourself submitting totally to your husband, please let him just find the woman that would, no need to marry. I don’t think it’s mandatory…Peace is good foe everyone..

You can submit to yourself and marry yourself, but if you choose to marry, then respect him completely and submit totally. If you don’t want to marry, that’s very very ok….And if you cannot love the woman totally, Nwanne I repeat…Marriage is not by force…

Actress Yvonne Jegede Bares Her Mind On Marriage And Submission

Considering the rate at which many marriages are crashing, I believe the message from Miss Yvonne is a timely one. The devil is working overtime in marriages today. The institution has now become a show of shame or a form of escape for some.

Like the actress so rightly put it, if you are not READY, don’t go into it. Marriage is supposed to be a lifetime journey and it goes a long way in determining how happy, fulfilled or frustrated our lives turns out to be.

One is not considered ready for marriage by age alone. It is a spiritual and very sacred journey only for those mentally, spiritually and emotionally fit.

The earlier the women understands that submission is not slavery but a very subtle tool with which we can control any man and make peace resident in our homes, the better for all of us.
