Army Rescues Additional Chibok Schoolgirls 6 Years Nine Months After 

The Nigerian Army has rescued some of the still missing Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in April 2014.

 

There was no official statement as to how many of the girls were saved.

The army seems to be keeping things under wraps until the girls, now females, have been found.

But the father of two of the 276 abducted Chibok schoolgirls, Mr. Ali Maiyanga, confirmed that his second daughter was one of the girls rescued from Boko Haram.

Two years after the girls were abducted from their school, the first escaped in November 2016.

With a baby born in captivity, she returned. Now, however, she has returned to school to complete her studies.

The two daughters of Mr. Ali Maiyanga were among the few Muslim schoolgirls taken with Christian Chibok girls in the majority, he said,
Law Party of the US Nigeria, which has been monitoring the abduction.

Maiyanga said he had spoken with his daughter, who had told him that she had been rescued by the army along with others.

Emmanuel Ogebe of the U.S., according to Law Party, with the army, there are other escapees waiting for their parents to recognise them.

Some of the girls escaped after the abduction of 276 girls, while 100 were released through talks with the government.

112 of the girls are still with Boko Haram so far.

There are fears, however, that some of them may have died as a result of Nigerian military bombardments of the Boko Haram enclaves.

And several were married, as the terrorist leader, Abubakar Shekau, once said.
