The spring season is officially here––adios winter, till we meet again! And on that note, we are super excited to see more colorful looks as Black stars across the West gradually push their winter looks to the back of their wardrobes.
With the temperatures gradually rising, last week’s best dressed celebrities and style stars seemed thrilled to finally be able to show off a bit more skin and of course, colors!
Kicking off the fresh season is Alicia Keys who revealed that she is beginning to feel more comfortable in her skin as she covers Allure Magazine’s April issue. For the shoot, the 40-year-old singer and songwriter showed off her abs in a colorfulBalenciaga top paired with a black Versace skirt, as styled by Jason Bolden. Her hair was put up in a pineapple-inspired high pony as she flaunted earrings and necklace from Tiffany & Co.
Keeping up with her decision to wear less makeup, her eyes were simply lined, brows barely penciled in and her lip finished off with a rosy lip gloss. To match her top, she wore a pair of bright orange sandals.
Over in Nigeria, Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic, stepped out for the fans’ premiere of her movie, La Femme Anjola at Ikeja City Mall in a lacy yellow Lanre DaSilva Ajayi dress from the brand’s The Modern Day Antoinette SS20 collection, as styled by Yolanda Okereke. She finished off her frilled look with a pair of gold open-toe pumps and gold statement drop earrings. A sleek low bun ponytail paired with golden bronzed smokey eyes and bronzed out lips made up her beauty look. Her choice of pink mani added an additional pop of color to the look.
The most stylish looks shared by Black celebrities and style stars were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Best dressed Black celebs style Instagram.
