The BON Awards 2022 will take place in Owerri, Imo state, on December 3.

This is part of the last-minute preparations to make this edition special.

Seun Oloketuyi, the man behind the BON Awards, explained the reasoning behind the initiative, saying, “Sammie Okposo in his lifetime was a force, and he did a lot for the growth of gospel music in nigeria and beyond.”

“We are not a music award, but we feel the need to honour him somehow. This was what inspired us to rename the Best Soundtrack category after him. All will feel his loss, and this is just a way to immortalise him.”

According to Oloketuyi, the 2022 BON Awards will be hosted by Hope Uzodinma, who has invited the film industry and others in the entertainment industry to help boost the economy of Imo state.

The 14th annual Indigenous Film Awards will be held in the Southeast for the second time.

The inclusion of Imo state in the narrative of Nollywood’s history was a significant factor in our decision to hold the awards ceremony there this year.

Lots of people from Imo have made it big in the business world.

Lateef Adedimeji and Queen Nwokoye will reportedly host the award show for this year.
