CAFWCL: Bayelsa Queens to fight for third position after semi-final defeat to AS FAR

Nigerian champions, Bayelsa Queens will now battle Tanzania’s Simba Queens for third spot following their slim 1-0 semi-final defeat to hosts AS FAR on Wednesday night.

The debutants dominated play against the Moroccans but somehow failed to find the back of the net.

Chinyere Igbomalu, Juliet Sunday and Maryann Ezenagu also missed good chances in the opening 15 minutes.

Player of the match, Ibtissam Jraidi scored the decisive goal for AS FAR in the first half.

It was Jraidi’s third goal of the competition.

Simba Queens also lost 1-0 to defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns in the other semi-final.

The third-place match will take place at the Moulay Hassan Stadium, Rabat on Saturday.
