In a world oversaturated with . tutorials and DIY projects (often gone wrong), it’s refreshing to come across one that is, in fact, useful and possible to recreate. So when we came across this completely functional and insanely portable bike bar, we were instantly prompted to share it.
A small wooden box is built to fit the exact dimensions of the negative space on a bicycle — and then gets filled with everything you need for drinks in the park: alcohol, bitters, liqueur, tonic water and cups. There’s even a tiny fold-out table made from the side of this boozy box. Of course, you could also use this for picnic supplies like fruit, cheese and a baguette should you choose to stay sober.
As far as we can tell, the original . post about this tricked-out bike has since been deleted; however, we were able to trace it back to a blog post on Hither and Thither from 2013. Even though this idea is not brand new, it’s far from well-known. Aside from a random reposting on Instagram > and there, the bike bar remains largely unpublicized.
Luckily, there are are couple of tutorials on Instructables, provided by Dutch designers, so you can try your hand at crafting this brilliant bar. And once you do, bon voyage!
