People who have been cheated on always wonder why their partners did so.

It’s one of the worst feelings, to know that you were not good enough for someone, so much so that they had to go behind your back and break the trust you had in them. But, what drives people to cheat on their partners? You will find even seemingly happy couples dealing with infidelity. Take an example of someone like Jay Z and Beyonce, I mean, Bey, has it all really, looks, talent, a thriving career, appears to be a doting mother and wife and still, Jay went ahead and cheated. While it’s said that people cheat in pursuit of what they’re not getting in their current relationship, there are also many other possible reasons why people cheat and we have listed a few:

1. They feel neglected.

Maybe your husband comes home and you show him zero affection. If they want to have some quality time in the bedroom, you always have the proverbial headache. At the end of the day, a man has needs and if you’re not giving him that loving that he needs, someone else will. As a wife, it’s your duty to take care of your husband, feed him well, make sure he never leaves the house hungry or horny.

2. You’ve let yourself go.

Maybe, when you started dating, you used to be spontaneous and adventurous in bed – sexy lingerie, open mindedness and taking initiative. But these days, you have let yourself go; you don’t take too much care of yourself, you don’t even remember when was the last time you treated yourself to sexy lingerie or a mani-pedi. It’s normal sometimes to get so caught up in work, parenting and life in general, but you should try to keep that sex appeal alive.

3. Maybe, you’re just broke.

Some people may fall into the pressure of the whole sponsor culture and cheat for the money. If you think about it, it’s quite tempting. On one hand, you have your broke or average earning salary boyfriend but on the other hand, you have a rich older man offering you the world. Some people cheat, not because they want to, but because the money is tempting. Maybe they want to pay for school or rent and what not and we all know that many jobs don’t pay well.

4. You’re bad in bed.

If you’re a lady and you lay there like a dead cockroach, or if you’re a man and your d*ick game is a nightmare, well, someone might as well try elsewhere…no?

5. Variety.

Unfortunately, sometimes, people cheat because they’re presented with way too much variety and want to taste other goods. Plus, most people have the mentality that “If I don’t get caught, it’s okay”.

6. The situation at hand.

Have you ever heard someone say that the reason they cheated was because they were drunk? As ridiculous as it sounds, sometimes, you can find yourself in a situation where self-control is basically a rumor.

7. Low commitment in the relationship.

Maybe you’re stuck in a non-progressive relationship and instead of breaking up, decide to look for other potential men, while still in your current relationship. That happens btw…

8. Revenge.

They say it’s a dish best served cold. There are some people who will cheat simply to get back at their partners, maybe they were cheated on too or something else happened and they decide that the best way to revenge is by sleeping with someone else. I mean, people are different and people handle being hurt differently.
