Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said his administration is working round the clock with the major stakeholder to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The virus has led to the death of over 8000 people in the world with over a million infected.
The Governor took to his Twitter page to explained that was what led to the decision of the state government to ban schools as well. The government after consultation with religious leaders had effect the ban on religious service involving over 50 people.

“Lagos holds a strategic position as a force for commerce, trade and travel so we are working with our healthcare professionals and our immigration agencies to strictly enforce the travel restrictions and other measures for #COVID19. Now is the time to be smart and stand together.
“We are limiting gatherings and events to no more than 50 people and appropriate social distancing must be observed. The required government agencies will be monitoring. Let us take #COVID19 seriously and observe good personal hygiene and other recommended precautions.
“As a responsible government, we must take actions to protect our residents from physical and other potential threats. After consulting with our healthcare professionals over #COVID19, we are closing down schools and limiting religious gathering,” he wrote.
