COVID-19: No Positive Case Recorded on Port Harcourt Vessel – NPC

The Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) has said that it is yet to confirm any positive case of the COVID-19 virus on a port Harcourt vessel.

This is in reaction to the six positive cases found on a Lagos vessel which brought the number in Lagos to 44 and 65 nationwide.

The NPA via its social media handle said it is collaborating with Port Health officials. They are therefore asking the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to give them the specific details on the name of the Vessel the passengers were on board and the Terminal or Jetty where they berthed if there are any.

There is a currently a total lockdown in River State which has also recorded a positive case.

As part of the measures taken, the NPA has directed its non-essential Divisions/Departments are hereby directed to stay away from duty for fourteen days which was effective from Monday, March 23.
