UCTC solicits support for isolation center
Although, the State is yet to record any case of the Pandemic but remains vulnerable. This is because two of her neighbouring states, Benue and Akwa Ibom have cases. The state also borders the Republic of Cameroon, which has cases as well.

The Chief Medical Director of UCTH, Prof. Ikpeme A. Ikpeme, who accompanied by other senior management staff led the newsmen on a tour of the five rooms’ facility which has four standard ICU beds and two functional ventilators used the opportunity to solicit for assistance from both the Federal and State Government, public-spirited organizations and individuals in order to expand the Isolation center to at least a 20-bed facility with an equal number of ventilators.
Adamawa extends lockdown
After recording its index case, the Adamawa State government has placed the state on lockdown for another period of 14 days.
The lockdown began midnight on Friday and would end at midnight of Friday, May 8.
According to a statement from the government released yesterday by Mr. Solomon Kumangar, the Director-General of Media and Communications in the Government House said the lockdown was informed by the first COVID-19 index case recorded in the state through a returnee from Kano.
Seven health workers infected in Borno
The Borno state government has said that seven health workers tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.
This was revealed by Dr. Salihu Kwaya-Bura, Secretary, Borno High Powered Response Team on Convid-19, who is also the Commissioner for Health on Friday in Maiduguri while giving an update on the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
