Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Senior Pastor of Christ Embassy, has said that it is an insult to science to wear face mask in Public.
The cleric who has not hidden his displeasure at the different measures put in place by the Federal government since the coronavirus pandemic started, made the statement in an online sermon on Tuesday.
Oyakhilome spoke against the wearing of face mask, arguing that the use of face masks in a time like this, is an embarrassment to science. He also went on to say that “If we go by science, you should not wear face masks in public.”
However, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has also slammed some pastors for accepting the closure of Churches which was done as a result of the lockdown order brought about by coronavirus pandemic.
He added that pastors should have told the government to allow them to pray for coronavirus patients instead of just accepting the closure of Churches first.
He said: “In different cities, countries, states, before the government went ahead with the lockdown, they held meetings with pastors, leaders of churches. Why did the pastors and leaders not say give us a few days to go and pray? Because they were not prayerful before.
“As a Minister of God, you were called for such a meeting and you couldn’t say give us a few days to call other Ministers and say this is what we just heard from the government authorities and we need to pray. We have asked them to give us three days. Then you would have seen the hand of God,” he said.
