Do I Have To Slap Your Face Before You Wake Up? Seun Kuti Worries Over Nigeria’s Increasing Troubles

Singer, song writer and instrumentalist, Seun Kuti has taken to social media to berate the country, Nigeria and its citizens over the country’s increasing problems.

Seun KutiTaking to his Instagram page, he shared a video where he said a lot has to be discussed so the country can get it right. He made reference to Nigeria being one of the largest producers of crude oil, yet the populace suffer in abject poverty.

Seun Kuti also spoke about young journalists who do not effectively carry out investigations, but publish stories and rubbish government without facts and verifiable factors.

“It’s all connected. It’s all linked. There is something wrong with this picture. This is the real corruption, the positioning of a certain few to take advantage of our very existence.

“One man will sell light generator and petrol , same man will have political power or be an ex politician and on top of that will sell your food, your real estate, your education, your transportation, your security, and also own a bank and we are expected to believe that there is no conflict of interest and the game is fair?

Still writing, Seun Kuti went on “As long as people thrive on extraction only without invention or innovation then the squeezing of their people must be the only option. Hence they announce that nigeria is breaking record for rice yet the price of rice is increasing.

“Nigeria is the worlds fifth largest oil producer, fuel price is rising. Educational standard is dropping , school fees is rising. Homelessness everywhere yet rent is rising and don’t forget telephone and radio and Tv. Do I have to slap your face to wake u up? This can’t continue. LIBERATION GENERATION,” Seun Kuti wrote.
