The lawmaker representing Remo North, Solomon Osho, who was recently suspended by the Ogun State House of Assembly has apologized.

Osho was suspended on September 13 alongside the former Deputy Speaker, Dare Kadiri for the alleged breach of the provision of the Legislative Houses (Power and Privileges) Act, 2017.

While Kadiri said the Speaker had solely taken the decision to suspend him for no justifiable reason, Osho had written a letter to the House, seeking forgiveness.

Osho’s letter was read on Tuesday as he formally apologised for whatever could have led to his suspension.

In the apology letter dated September 26 and addressed to the Speaker, Osho said: “I hereby humbly apologise for whatever I might have done to warrant the suspension, as it was never intentional and without prejudice to the rights and privileges of the Hallowed House.”

The lawmaker passionately appealed for the reconsideration of his suspension, saying “my conduct has (sic) always been with decorum and respect for constituted authority.”

The embattled lawmaker pledged to “keep sacred till the end of my tenure as a worthy representative of my people.”

He thanked Oluomo and the entire House “in anticipation of a favourable reconsideration and understanding.”

In his reaction, Oluomo referred the letter to the Committee of the Whole House for further legislative actions.
