“Because I had a divorce [case] and they [court] said my wife won, they gave her all my properties – my two houses, money and the cars that I had in England.

“I wasn’t worried about it because I expected that she was going to use it to take care of my children.

“When they [court] said that, I was very disappointed… To be honest, for the first time, I was very down but after that, I prayed and forgot about all of that.”

Ebou’s divorce occurred after he was banned for one year from football for failing to pay a former agent. He  now claims he has properties in Africa he survives with.

“After that [divorce case], I left and returned back to Africa. I have my own properties in Africa and so I live with that,” the former player added.

“When I hear people say Emmanuel Eboue lost everything, I laugh. I have properties in Ghana, I have properties in my home country [Ivory Coast].

“I live very comfortably and I thank God. So when people keep talking and say Emmanuel Eboue doesn’t have anything, he can’t eat, doesn’t have a place to stay, it’s not true.”

Iniubong Umoren, Deceased Job Seeker Emerged As A Top Performer In Her Graduating Class

Iniubong Umoren, the job seeker who was raped and murdered by a man who persuaded her with a feigned job interview came out as the best graduating student in the Department of Philosophy, University of Uyo, Uyo.

Netizens have dug out more information on the victim and as seen from the photo displayed below, Iniubong was listed seventh among the top graduating students in the 2020/2020 class with a GPA of 4.12. The results was released by the University of Uyo.

The veracity of the results provided by the reputable institution was asserted by Idorenyin Esikot, associate professor and acting head, Departement of Philosophy, University of Uyo. He told PREMIUM TIMES that Miss Umoren was an outstanding student with exceptional performance.

According to him, she would have likely been employed as a lecturer at the department after her National Youth Service Corpse (NYSC) programme which is mandatory for everyone.

Mr Esikot told PREMIUM TIMES in Uyo on Saturday that she was only a few points away from making first class.

He said:

“She was a very committed and focused student, very hard working. In fact, she was very versatile because apart from her academics, she was a footballer, playing for our female team.

“She was very social and dependable; she wasn’t the kind of student that would play around. Whatever she does, she was very committed,”

Mr Esikot said Miss Umoren expressed sadness over her demise saying her end was a personal loss to him. “Anytime I remember it, it’s like a nightmare. Very unfortunate,” he said.

“If she had been alive and wanted to come into the (teaching) profession, she is the kind of student we would encourage to come into the profession. Because that is a student that never failed a course and was always doing well. Those who know my department, before you can come out top the way she did, then you must agree that she was really hard working.

“We have some of our colleagues, who are lecturers (today), who graduated with less GPA than her,” Mr Esikot said.

Ben Chilwell names ‘brilliant’ player in Chelsea squad after Man City win

Published

on

Former Premier League referee, Dermot Gallagher, has said that Manchester City should have been awarded a penalty for Kurt Zouma’s collision with Raheem Sterling during their defeat to Chelsea.

Manchester City took the lead through Sterling’s first effort while Sergio Aguero missed a golden opportunity to extend City’s lead from the spot.

Thomas Tuchel’s side came back stronger in the second half scoring through Hakim Ziyech before Marcos Alonso turned in Timo Werner’s low cross to secure a 2-1 win for the visitors at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola was angered by referee Anthony Taylor decision to waved away the penalty claim after Zouma appeared to clip the back of Sterling’s leg inside Chelsea’s area.

“I think it’s a penalty, it’s clumsy, he doesn’t play the ball,” Gallagher told Premier League Productions when asked about the incident.

“It is a penalty in my view but I think it is so minimal contact that VAR looks at it, is it a clear obvious error?

“He’ll say no, leave it with the on-field [decision]. Many, many times we’ve asked for the on-field referee to make the decision.

“I think in this case it’s left to the on-field [decision]. I feel he’s got it wrong. What I would say is he’s made a genuine decision and I can’t see VAR overturning it.

“What you have to remember is he’s [the VAR official] there to say if it’s a clear and obvious error. I think not, in my view it’s a penalty, but it’s so subjective.

“A lot of people look at that and say there’s not enough contact. Only a few weeks ago we were talking about how many penalties have been given that wouldn’t have been given in previous years because the tolerance level for contact has been brought down so low.

“So I think the balance has got to be – does a referee on the field think it’s a penalty? No. Does the VAR looking at it think it’s a clear and obvious error? He thinks no, so it’s left with the on-field decision.”
