“How Do I Get Comfortable With Masturbating?”

Published

on

Q: I want to masturbate more but whenever I try, I feel very uncomfortable. Normally, I wait until I’m very aroused to get started but at some point, I lose that feeling and give up.

My goal is to go all the way and see if I can enjoy an orgasm but I don’t know how to simply get comfortable with masturbating. Do you have any tips that can help?

A:  Embracing your sexuality as a woman is a big step, whether during solo sessions or with a partner. You cannot truly explore the joys your body is capable of providing until you accept that it’s okay to be aroused and pleasured. One of the things that are probably holding you back is that wall between what you want and what society thinks you should want.

Basically, you’re about to cross the line into something that society has told you all your life is wrong. You may not consciously accept that but our bodies have a way of reacting to stuff that’s deep in our minds.

So how can you break down that wall to the beautiful sensual paradise waiting on the other side? Take things slow. This process cannot be rushed. You say you get as far as getting aroused. That’s great. Now instead of thinking about a destination, simply enjoy where you are. Touch the areas that excite you and keep doing the things your body responds to.

Explore other tips for staying in the moment such as turning on the music, watching pornography, turning down the lights, wearing something super sexy, etc. Don’t worry about achieving an orgasm for now. That can get you out of the relaxed state you need to be in to have one.

Simply try to stay in the moment for as long as it feels good. Once you get that part down, your body will understand that it’s okay to accept the pleasure you’re giving it. And as time goes on, you’ll be able to ride this special moment to the peak.
