About Oily Skin
If you have oily skin, you probably don’t like it. Oily skin is prone to enlarged pores, blackheads and acne. Also, your T-zone is shiny and oily within few hours after cleansing.

Clean your face twice daily with foaming or gel-based cleanser. Soap isn’t good for oily skin because it can over-strip your skin and cause more oiliness. Don’t go overboard with skin care products!
It’s recommended to use oil-free moisturizer, sunscreen with an SPF (at least 15) and alcohol-free toner. If you’re not a teenager, avoid teenage acne products. They treat different condition from what women in their 20’s have.
2. Use oil-free primer and foundation.
To make your skin shine-free and smoother for longer time, you should apply primer before you apply your foundation. The ideal primer should be oil-absorbing and oil-free yet non-drying and nourishing. To stay matte and fresh, you’ll also need foundation for oily skin.
3. Home remedies for oily skin.
If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on skin care products, you can make your own at home. Home remedies are made of natural ingredients we all have in our household. They are cheap and healthy. When you’re making your own skin care product, you know exactly what you put in it and you’re sure there aren’t any chemicals.

4. Exfoliate your skin.
Exfoliate at least 2 to 3 times per week with a gentle scrub. Exfoliation will help even the skin tone and prevent skin breakouts.
5. Avoid fatty foods.
We believe you already heard this phrase: “You’re what you eat”. Bad diet can reflect on your skin. Candy bars, french fries, and other unhealthy fats can cause overly oily skin.
Our body needs fat but quality and healthy fat. Fat foods that are good for you and your skin are: avocados, eggs, olive oil, nuts, nut butter and fatty fish.
6. Eat a diet high in essential fatty acids and antioxidants.
Healthiest foods rich in fatty acids are: cauliflower, shrimp, tofu, soybeans, salmon, sardines, walnuts and flax seeds.
Foods with the most antioxidants are: red beans, blueberry, cranberry, blackberry, artichoke, prune, strawberry, raspberry, Granny Smith apple. black plum, sweet cherry, and plum.
Healthy skin is another reason to start exercising! Exercising promotes healthy circulation which helps keep your skin vibrant and healthy.

8. Drink water!
Our body and skin needs water to stay moisten and hydrate. Oil production will consequently slow down if your skin is properly hydrated. Remember to drink plenty of water!
9. No stress!
Final exams, relationship problems or unexpected surgery all have one thing in common – stress. Stress can lead to hair loss, brittle nails and dermatologic problems.
Scientists are still investigating the link between skin and stress. Though, some studies have shown that oily skin is influenced by stress hormones.
10. See a dermatologist.
