Dear Doctor Bisi,
I need your advice. I got pregnant three months ago but unfortunately I lost the baby through a miscarriage. The miscarriage happened after a particularly stressful day at work. Please how soon can I get pregnant again? Please tell me what to do to get pregnant very fast to replace the lost one. Thank you
I’m very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. You need to take it easy on yourself and don’t put too much pressure on your body. The speed at which you can get pregnant again depends on your coital frequency per week. This simply means how often you have sex in a week.
You should be able to get pregnant within one year of regular (3-5 days) unprotected intercourse, providing there is no identifiable problem with either you or your partner. You can time the intercourse to be around your fertile period (day 11-15 of your menstrual cycle).
You also need to find out what caused the first miscarriage, apart from work stress, to prevent a future occurrence.
