Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke has spoken on the poor treatment of actors and filmakers in Nigeria. The actor in a lengthy post on Twitter said actors do not receive royalties and residuals for all their works in Nigeria.
The TV star also called out the Actors Guild and asked what the responsibility of the body is to actors and filmakers. He mentioned that during the lockdown actors entertained people and said they performed an essential service. Gideon Okeke mentioned that acting is a profession and just like other professions across the world gratuities and pensions should be provided for them. He called on other actors to speak up and not watch themselves being denied their dues.
