Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo has come out to defend the viral picture she shared to celebrate her son’s birthday, in which she squat unclad before the young boy.
Many celebrities and people across Ghana and other parts of the world have shown discontent about the snap, querying why a mother would do such. While many say she is promoting child porn, others are of the opinion that it is totally wrong to have one’s child(ren) look upon one’s nakedness.\"Akuapem\"Akuapem
Although she took the picture down from her IG page a few hours after she sent it out, Akuapem Poloo actress sent out another video to clear the air on why she struck such pose. She stated that she is an artiste and whatever she pushes out on her social media pages is to pass some messages across to whoever is seeing it.
She then revealed that the motive behind the picture is to encourage children, even grown ups not to neglect or disregard their parents when they are naked, adding that the nakedness is not only in form of taking off clothes but other denotative way and means, including insanity and shame.

Akuapem Poloo further apologised in the video for any inconvenience she might have caused anyone, adding that she had had about 7 interviews with different media firms, explaining and re-explaining the motive behind the snap. She added that she and her son bathe together  everyday and she sees it as no big deal.

“This is very significant for the growth, development and promotion of the arts and music industry in Africa, especially when you look at it from the point of view of collaborations, the Malawi music industry and connecting to the center of the journey of the ongoing movements and the development of the African industry to the global audience,” Dada submitted.

South African billionaire commits suicide

A South African billionaire, Markus Jooste has committed suicide as he was found dead with a gunshot wound near Cape Town.

It was reported that the billionaire shot himself in the head while taking a walk just few minutes from his Stellenbosch home.

The former Steinhoff CEO had been involved in an accounting fraud scandal as he got a hefty fine on Wednesday.

Police are investigating, stating that no foul play is suspected.

“It is alleged that the victim sustained a gunshot wound at around 1520 (local time) at Kwaaiwater and succumbed to death on his way to hospital,” Western Cape police spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut said in a statement.

Jooste’s death comes after a fine from the Financial Sector Conduct Authority for false financial statements linked to Steinhoff’s near-collapse in 2017 due to accounting irregularities.

El-Rufai Speaks On Dumping APC For SDP

A former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has denied rumours of his planned defection of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

El-Rufai made an unexpected appearance at the SDP National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.

The National Chairman of the SDP, Shehu Musa Gabam, and other chieftains of the party received the former Kaduna governor.

Reacting in a statement on Thursday issued by his spokesman, Muyiwa Adekeye, El-Rufai said he only visited the SDP headquarters to return a visit to the party’s chairman.

The former Minister said Gabam was among his friends who took part in the break of the Ramadan fast (Iftar) at his house in Abuja on Tuesday.

El-Rufai said he is known for being open and forthright, adding that his political decisions would not be subjected to speculation.

Pregnant Married Woman Arrested For Faking Kidnap, Sharing Ransom With Boyfriend

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested an expectant mother who faked her own kidnap and demanded for N2 million as ransom from her husband.

It was gathered that the woman shared the ransom money with the man suspected to be her boyfriend, and whom she connived with to defraud the husband.

FCT Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh, who paraded the suspects yesterday, said: “About 19:40hrs on March 11, one Chiedozie Ubah of Saburi II Dei-dei, Abuja, reported at Gwa Gwa Police Division that his pregnant wife, Rosemary Ubah, left for the hospital on same date but did not return home. He later received a call from his wife’s number telling him that she had been kidnapped and demanded for two N2 million ransom before her release.

“He transferred the money into his wife’s account as instructed and later brought his wife to the station after her release. During interrogation, the wife freely confessed to have conspired with one man named Walter Ezeala living on the same street with them at Saburi to extort money from her husband.

“The said Walter was arrested and he confessed that he got N800,000 from the ransom money.

“N793,500) cash, two ATM cards and two android phones were recovered from them.”

In a similar development, Igweh narrated how operatives of the command arrested a man who faked also his own kidnap to test the loyalty of his girlfriend.

Lifestyle Nigeria has obtained the official dollar to the naira exchange rate in Nigeria today, including the Bureau De Change (BDC) rate and CBN rates.

What Is The Official Exchange Rate For Dollar To Naira Today?

The exchange rate between the Naira and the US dollar according to the data released on the FMDQ Security Exchange, the official forex trading portal showed that the Naira opened at ₦1536.83 per $1 on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, and closed at ₦1453.28 per $1 on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

However, the Naira is trading as high as ₦1,400 per Dollar at the black market even though the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced the unification of all segments of the foreign exchange market.

The apex bank, had in a circular on Wednesday 14th June 2023, said all FX windows were now collapsed into the investors & exporters (I&E) window.

The statement read, “Abolishment of segmentation. All segments are now collapsed into the Investors and Exporters (I&E) window. Applications for medicals, school fees, BTA/PTA, and SMEs would continue to be processed through deposit money banks.

“Re-introduction of the “Willing Buyer, Willing Seller” model at the I&E Window. Operations in this window shall be guided by the extant circular on the establishment of the window, dated 21 April 2017, and referenced FM/DIR/CIR/GEN/08/007. All eligible transactions are permitted to access foreign exchange at this window.
