Asking what Nigerians did to \”deserve such cruelty and disregard from our leaders\”, the Kannywood actress stated that the \”disturbing recent footages on social media is disheartening and inhumane.\”

 

Urging everyone with a voice, power and influence to contribute in tackling insecurity in Nigeria, Sadau stated that losing the northern region of the country to bandits is like losing the whole nation.

EFCC Issues Arrest Warrant for Former Gov Yahaya Bello

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared a former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, wanted for offences relating to economic and financial crimes.

This was contained in a notice posted on the commission’s official Facebook page on Thursday.

The notice read, “The public is hereby notified that Yahaya Adoza Bello (former Governor of Kogi State), whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in connection with alleged case of Money Laundering to the tune of N80,246,470,089.88

“Bello, a 48-year-old Ebira man, is a native of Okenne Local Government of Kogi State.

“His last known address is: 9, Benghazi Street, Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.”

The notice asked anybody with useful information about the former governor’s whereabouts to contact any of the commission’s offices across the country.

The anti-graft commission had earlier stated that it would, on Thursday (today), arraign the former governor before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has lamented that widespread hatred towards the officers of the Nigeria Police is affecting security in the country. 

. reports that the National Chairman of the PCRC, Mogaji Olaniyan who addressed newsmen at the 40th celebration ceremony of the Committee held in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital, stated that the PCRC is fostering a permanent relationship between members of the community and the police in order to end the ugly narrative.

He said; “We are calling that people should love the Nigeria Police, this is what they lack. right from childhood we have created enmity between our children and the Nigeria Police.

“This hatred starts from our home. For instance if parents want to scold their children they will say ‘I will call the police for you. This is why our children grow up with hatred for the police and that is why we are trying to stop this narrative.”

Edo Govt Condemns Clash Between Akpata And UNIBEN SUG

Edo State Government has condemned the attack on the Labour Party’s Governorship candidate, Olumide Akpata, at the University of Benin by students of the institution on Friday.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that in a statement issued on Saturday, state Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, said an investigation is ongoing concerning the matter.

“Claims and counterclaims have been made by Mr. Akpata and the Student Union Government (SUG) of the University in statements issued by both parties on April 13, and active investigation is ongoing on the issue.

“The Edo State Government, however, warns in the strongest terms that it will not tolerate violence or this sort of irresponsible behaviour which was associated with the visit of Mr. Akpata to the institution.

“Government has the primary responsibility to ensure the security of lives and property in the State and will spare no effort to ensure that anyone who breaches the peace, no matter how highly placed, will face the full weight of the law.

“We hereby call on all Edo people to go about their lawful businesses without let as relevant agencies progress with their investigation into the said matter.
