President Muhammadu Buhari has admitted that age is telling on him as he has to work for over eight hours daily.

The President, who stated this in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), said he is desperately in need of a deserved rest after ruling the country for about seven years.

President Buhari turned 79 on December 17, 2021.

The President said he had served Nigeria dutifully and expressed the hope that the citizens would acknowledge the efforts at the end of his tenure next year.

He said: “About my age, I see my colleagues, they are now resting, and I assure you that I look forward to the next 17 months when I too will be less busy.

Court Upholds Ganduje’s Suspension As APC Chairman

Latest Politics updatein nigeria

A High Court in Kano State has issued an ex parte order, restraining the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, from acting as the National Chairman and member of the party.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that the court ruled that Ganduje should refrain from presiding over the affairs of the National Working Committee of the party, pending the determination of the substituted motion of his suspension.

The order was granted by Justice Usman Malam Na’abba on Wednesday, following an ex parte motion filed by Dr Ibrahim Sa’ad, on behalf of two executive members of Ganduje’s ward in Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area. The plaintiffs were part of the nine ward executives who suspended Ganduje.

The court also directed the APC NWC, APC Kano State Working Committee (KSWC), and Ganduje, to maintain the status quo ante bellum as of 15th April 2024, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit on 30th April 2024.

The court further held that the State Working Committee must not interfere with the legally and validly considered decision of the executives of Ganduje’s ward, essentially on action endorsed by a third majority of the executives as provided by the party constitution.

The matter has been adjourned till April 30th for a hearing.
