JUST IN: Court Dismisses Bulkachuwa’s Suit Seeking To Stop ICPC From Probing Him

A federal high court in Abuja has dismissed a suit filed by Adamu Bulkachuwa seeking to stop the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) from probing him.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that ICPC commenced an investigation on the Senator over the comment he made during the valedictory session of the 9th National Assembly.

In a judgement on Tuesday, the presiding judge, Inyang Ekwo, held that the suit lacked merit and ought to be dismissed.

Bulkachuwa, while speaking at the senate valedictory session in June, said he often “encroached on” his wife’s space while she was in office.

However, the former senate president who presided over the session, Ahmad Lawan, interrupted the senator before he spoke any further.

Bulkachuwa’s wife – Zainab, a former president of the court of appeal, was the first female to hold the position.

Bulkachuwa’s comments sparked outrage, with many Nigerians calling for investigations into his claim.

Following this, the ICPC then commenced an investigation and invited the former senator for questioning.
