The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has denied media reports claiming he said Nigerians should contribute money for the treatment of victims of the Monday, March 28, train attack.
Terrorists attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train killing eight persons, injuring 21, and abducting an unspecified number of others.
Earlier today, reports were rife that the Minister on Wednesday asked Nigerians to contribute money for the injured victims.
However in a statement released, the Ministry said contrary to reports, what the Minister said was that the authorities of the Nigerian Railway Corporation should liaise with the hospital management to see how much they can contribute towards the treatment of the patients.

Skitmakers, comedians should collaborate not compete – Bovi
Factual Pursuit of Truth for Progress
Popular comedian, Bovi Ugboma has stated that there should be no competition amongst skit makers and stand up comedians.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said the two professions are similar yet different so they should collaborate instead of seeing themselves as competitors.
When asked if the rise of online skit makers have affected stand up comedians, he said, “Why should it affect them? They are two different crafts. We should learn to be more collaborative instead of competitive.
“Anytime I get that question, I get worried because what they do is online, and there is a market for it. What we do is offline and there is a market for it as well.
“They have a different genre, so we should encourage them and the fact that they can make money out of it. The fact that it is now a booming business is a plus to the entertainment industry.”
Bovi talked about what makes his crafts unique. He said, “I just do me and I make sure I always challenge and reinvent myself. I also constantly evolve so people would not get bored.
“If one does not reinvent oneself, people will find one predictable.”
