NDDC Board Will Not Work On Old Failed Templates – Onochie – Lifestyle Nigeria

The new Chairperson of the board of the Niger-Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Governing Board, Ms Lauretta Onochie, has vowed that the new board would not work on the failed templates that have failed the region.

. reports that she spoke following the inauguration of the board by the Minister of Niger-Delta Affairs, Chief Umana Okon Umana adding that the new board would not fail but asked Nigerians to give it a breathing space to achieve its task.

The new board is the seventh Governing Board of the NDDC.

She said, “Since its establishment by the NDDC Act, the Commission has received a lot of flack from all and sundry.

“Consequently, the board will be looking to review also, in addition to all the guidelines issued by the Honourable Minister, will be looking to review the existing policies and guidelines to enable us to have a clear sight as we hit the ground running.

“We cannot continue working with failed templates and expect to get a different result,” Onochie, the new NDDC chairperson said.

“Apart from the physical development of our region, we will be paying extra attention to the empowerment of our teeming youth population, equipping them with requisite skills to enable that to catch up with their peers in other parts of Nigeria and elsewhere.

“There’s no doubt that we have a huge task ahead of us. We ask for the support of Nigerians in general and the Niger Delta in particular.

Lifestyle Nigeria gathered that the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka, has said it would be wrong for anybody to liken the current travail of their National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, to the political intrigues that led to the removal of the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee from the party secretariat.

The statement was made by the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka while responding to questions surrounding Ganduje’s suspension on Arise TV on Thursday.

Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the party, and members of the then NWC were elected into office for four years (2018 – 2022) at a national convention in Abuja.

But the leadership of the party was dissolved two years into their tenure, an action that a former acting chairman of the APC, Ntufam Eta, claimed was taken to derail the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu (now president).

Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya, on Saturday set a new Guinness World Record for the longest marathon chess; making Nigeria proud.

The chestmaster confirmed this in a post on his official X account.

He wrote, “We have done it.

“We’re pushing to 60 hours guys. We’re not stopping yet. Let’s keep going.
