Lifestyle News

The Nigerian Correctional Services has announced that it will be publishing the names and pictures of more than 1500 inmates who escaped from prisons in Oko and Benin, Edo state and Okitipupa, Ondo State on Monday, 26th October and Thursday, 29th October.

Recall that hoodlums took over the #EndSARS protests and raided prisons to free the prisoners.

Austin Njoku, the spokesman of the Nigeria Correctional Service said the service is making efforts and gathering all intelligence resources to execute the recapture of escaped prisoners.

Speaking to newsmen, Njoku said

“We are mobilising the people and the press for information because to inject the number of such people into society is a problem. Imagine over 1,000 criminals injected into society? We are mobilising the intelligence agencies, the police and the DSS (Department of State Services). We are publishing their names and pictures very soon.”
