Obasanjo Implores Increased Participation In Politics By Christians

Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president of nigeria, claimed that elections in that country were rigged and urged Christians to actively engage in politics to clean it up.

He announced this at The Gospel Faith Mission International’s 67th anniversary celebration and 57th annual conference, both of which were held at Gospel City, Ogunmakin on the Lagos–Ibadan Motorway in Ogun State.

Speaking on the topic of “The Roles of the Church in Nation Building at a Time Like This,” Obasanjo asserted that the church must step up to the plate as the world’s salt at times of instability, hopelessness, poverty, and depression.

“The foundation of election in nigeria is corruption and you cannot make corruption the foundation of anything for it to be good.”

While sighting the 1999 elections, he said the two first sad and bad experiences he had were during the local government election,were PDP was totally rejected.
