Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has dismissed reports that its Presidential candidate, Kola Abiola has withdrawn from the 2023 presidential race.
Gatekeepers News reports that the PRP, in a statement made available on Friday by Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, the Assistant to the party’s National Chairman, said the false report making rounds is a ‘ridiculous machination of politicians’ who feel ‘intimidated’.
The party urged members of the public to disregard the report, reiterating its candidate’s readiness to lead the nation “at this critical time considering the glaring failures of both APC and PDP.”
The statement reads: “The attention of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has been drawn to a fallacious report in circulation that our presidential candidate, Mr Kola Abiola is set to withdraw from 2023 presidential race.
“The report is entirely an unfounded falsehood and ridiculous machination of politicians who are intimidated by the entrance of the PRP into the 2023 presidential election. Hence, we call on Nigerians to utterly disregard the report as it is nothing but a sponsored disinformation by some mischief makers to demoralise millions of our members and supporters.
“Also, we use this medium to assure our members, supporters and the general public that PRP presidential candidate, Mr Kola Abiola and his running mate Arch. Haro Zego are fully in the 2023 presidential race and not just to answer candidates. And preparations are on top gear for the flagging off our campaign soon. Our candidate is fully prepared to provide the required leadership for nigeria at this critical time considering the glaring failures of both APC and PDP.”
