President Muhammadu Buhari as appointed a new acting Comptroller General to replace Muhammad Babandede who retired this week from service.
Idris Isah Jere, the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Finance and Account has been appointed temporarily to act as the CG pending the appointment of a substantive CG.
The acting CG would head the Nigeria Immigration Service for the time being.
The former Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede retired after 36 years in service and 5 years as CG.
The retired officer reaffirmed his support and committed to the commission during a valedictory service held on his behalf on Friday.
He stated that he was ever ready to honour the invitation of his successor anytime he is been called for.
He further revealed that his tenure has brought several changes to the immigration service as he left the immigration better than it was.
