It was the gathering of who is who at the congress hall of Transcorp

Hilton Abuja when the National Day reception of Korea and the opening ceremony of Culture Festival were opened by the Korean Ambassador Noh Kyu-duk. The event which witness cultural performances that showcases Korea’s old and new artistic entertainments thrilled the guests.

Three performance teams all the way from Korea were invited to thrill the guest with their various performances which included the winners of of K-pop festival in Korea. And also two chefs from Conrad Hotel in Seoul were on hand to prepare Korean cuisines for the reception.

According to the ambassador, Noh Kyu-duk he sent out his deepestcondolences to the people of France who suffered from the heinous terrorist attack in Paris, last Friday. ‘Korea stands in solidarity with France. Friday’s terror attacks were not just an attack on Paris; they were an attack on all peace-loving humanity. That is why the whole peace-loving world condemns in the strongest terms the inhumane terror attacks against innocent people and remains united in the efforts to eradicate terrorism.

Mr Kyu-duk also hinted that this year marks the 4348th anniversary of the foundation of Korean nation and safe to say that this is one of the oldest anniversaries in the world.

According to the Korean mythological record written in its ancient history books, the first Korean nation was founded by a founding father named Dan-gun in 2333 B.C.

Dan-gun is a son of Hwanung who came down from heaven and a bear-turned-woman who had to spend 100 days in a cave without seeing the sun eating only garlic and mugwort to become a human being.
