The 13 Wonder Working Benefits of African Black Soap

Published

on

It’s always interesting for me to learn what women long ago used for soaps, moisturizers, hair wash etc. because all of these things certainly did not contain any kind of chemicals.
Reading about what women like Queen Sheba, Cleopatra etc. (many of African descent) used to keep their skin flawless without any artificial ingredients is very inspiring for anyone who wants to be beautiful naturally

If like me, you are interested in natural beauty, I’m sure you must have heard of a natural skin and hair cleansing ingredient known as African Black Soap. Also known as Ose Dudu in Nigeria and Alata Samina in Ghana
Ancient women from Nigeria, Ghana and other neighboring West African countries handcrafted this soap using natural ingredients to promote clean and beautiful skin and hair.
The major ingredients that make up this soap are: Cocoa pod, plantain leaves, Shea bark, palm kernel oil. Other optional ingredients, such as honey, shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil etc, may be added to make the soap more healing, cleansing and moisturizing.

Now let’s look at the wonder working benefits of Black Soap for Skin

1. Cleanses Skin
Just like any other soap, African black soap does an effective job of cleansing your skin, ridding it of dirt, grime, dead cells, excess sebum and germs. However, unlike other soaps, African black soap does not completely strip your skin of its natural oils, thereby keeping it smooth and moisturized in addition to cleansing it.

2. Good for Sensitive Skin Types
African black soap is a popular choice for those with sensitive skin types that are prone to redness, rashes and other skin infections. If your skin reacts negatively to commercial soaps or even gentle soaps such as liquid castile soap, then you must try using African black soap. It contains absolutely no hidden ingredients that can irritate the skin.

3. Soothes & Heals Eczema
The ingredients in African black soap have powerful anti-inflammatory properties which soothe and calm eczema. Instead of using harsh commercial soaps and body washes for eczema, lather up with African black soap instead and notice how soothed your skin feels afterwards!

4. Reduces Blemishes & Dark Spots
One of the miraculous properties of African black soap is its ability to reduce blemishes and even out skin discolorations. The nutrient-rich ingredients have something to do with this skin lightening effect. The pure oils and butters in African black soap are rich in vitamin A, E and essential fatty acids that help lighten discolorations and reduce scarring.

5. Fights Facial & Body Acne
Need a gentle but effective cleanser for acne-prone skin? Then try out African black soap! It’s gentle, contains no chemicals and is a valuable acne-fighter! It’s also especially good for people with back acne. Use it twice a day to cleanse your face and body – in the morning and at night before bed for best results.

7. Reduces Oily Skin
The natural cleansing and exfoliating action of African black soap removes excess sebum from deep within the pores and on the skin’s surface.

8. Minimizes Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Did you know that African black soap is rich in antioxidants? Ingredients, such as cocoa, are powerful antioxidants that ward off notorious free radicals that steal oxygen from healthy skin cells which causes them to become lifeless. Using African black soap helps keep away premature wrinkles and fine lines.

9. Unclogs Blocked Pores
If you suffer from congested pores, use African black soap to deep cleanse and purify your skin from deep within without stripping natural oils.

10. Helps Fade Acne Scars
Ingredients such as palm kernel oil as well as shea butter help moisturize skin and naturally lighten and fade out acne scars. Did you know that acne scars look more pronounced when the skin is dehydrated and flaky? Moisturizing helps reduce the appearance of acne scars and fades them faster. The exfoliating properties also help slough off dead skin that normally collects above the acne scar.

11. Soothes Razor Bumps
Use African black soap during shaving to moisturize the skin thereby minimizing razor bumps. You can also use it after shaving to soothe & calm the red skin.

13. Eliminates Fungal Skin Infections
African black soap has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties that fight off bacteria, fungus and other microbes that cause skin infections.
Now that you know the wonder working benefits of African Black Soap, wouldn’t you rather get it right away!

Nobody likes to be told that they look old. It is everyone’s wish to look and remain young for as long as they can. However, there many things that would make you age faster than you probably should. We take a sneak preview at these ageing factors:

Smoking

Smoking causes the release of free radicals, which is like rust for your body. Smokers have higher risks of almost any disease under the sun, including cancer, heart disease, dementia and generally premature death. People may actually see the effects of smoking just a few years after initial cigarette use. Deep furrows that result from the constant lip purse when smoking are one of these effects and they actually make you look old.

Poor diet

What’s on your plate can be what causes wrinkles, Just think: You eat three or more times a day, most likely, and if your daily meals are filled with foods such as vegetable oils, margarine, red meats, white bread, or sugary, processed foods, you’re not doing your skin any favours. These foods can cause inflammation in your body, which may accelerate wrinkle formation. To prevent premature ageing, stock up on food rich in omega 3 and fatty acids such as avocados. Also, consume more vegetables to maintain your skin’s soft and supple look.

Overexposure to screens

You probably stare at your phone, laptop or television for more than three hours a day. This forward tilt of your head results in the combination of a loss of firmness in the neck, physical strain, and premature wrinkling of the skin along the front of your neck. The skin on your neck is thinner than the skin on your face, making it even more easy to showing early signs of ageing.

Bad posture can give you early onset aches and pains that people don’t suffer from until they are old. Everything from slumping in front of your keyboard at work to texting can gradually misalign your body, strain and tighten your muscles, and even cause lower back, neck, or hip pain.

Skipping sleep

Poor sleeping habits cause premature ageing. If you can, try to get between seven and nine hours of sleep per night. But be careful as sleeping too long on one side of your face can be what causes wrinkles and sleep lines. The best way to avoid fine lines and wrinkles is by sleeping on your back or purchasing smooth pillow cases.

Consuming too much alcohol

A moderate amount of alcohol has heart-healthy benefits, but too much alcohol makes someone look older than they actually are.  Excess alcohol can also lead to heart failure, liver cirrhosis and many other health hazards.

Stress

Nothing takes its toll on your body faster than constant worry, anxiety, or stress. Stress can age your brain, increase your blood pressure, and disrupt your sleeping habits, all of which combined can make you look older, as well. To avoid stress, limit the amount of caffeine you consume, avoid processed foods and try exercising.

Anti-aging goodness

Our hands lose moisture so quickly causing them to get dry. As a result, they tend to look wrinkly and old. To get that anti-aging goodness of petroleum jelly,  ensure you carry your Arimis with you and moisturize often. One can use it in place of a hand cream  if you can’t access one.

Make up remover

The milking jelly can also be used to quickly remove matte lipstick. All you need is to apply it on the lips then use a warm washcloth or tissue to remove the lipstick. It is advisable that right after removing the matte lipstick to moisturize the lips with the jelly. Fascinating right?

Our lips have the most sensitive skin so one needs to moisturize them on a regular. Arimis really does wonders to the lips by moisturizing and softening them. You can also use it to exfoliate your lips by dabbing some Arimis and rubbing them with a cloth in a gentle circular motion. The exfoliation process helps to lift the dead skin and help fade the darker areas that linger around the lips.

You can also use Arimis to remove makeup from your face by applying it then using it a warm dark cloth or tissue to clean it off. However, make sure to cleanse it off properly with a good cleanser.

Substitute make up primer

The jelly can be used in place of a primer in case you run out.  You can apply a considerate amount of jelly on your face then apply your foundation. This will add a protective layer to your skin before applying makeup.
