Two new contestants join 16 others on Gulder Ultimate Search 12
After several weeks of screening whittled down more than 20,000 applicants to 20 finalists, the Gulder Ultimate Search contestants selection process was concluded with the emergence of the last two contestants through fans’ votes. Now comes the hard part, which leads to the emergence of the Ultimate Man/Woman, who will win the N50 million prize?
With the online voting and selections finally complete, sponsors of the show, Nigerian Breweries Plc, announced that Osasere Agbonile and Odudu Otu as the new additions to the 16 contestants unveiled at a selection party held in Lagos last Sunday.
After the announcement of 16 contestants on Sunday, the fate of four others were left in the hands of fans to decide the two among them who would make it to the jungle to compete for the over N50 million prize, which is five times bigger than the prize of the last edition held in 2014.
According to the Corporate Affairs Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Sade Morgan, “The four candidates were part of the 20 finalists who made it through the regional screenings, but only 18 contestants have been chosen to participate in Gulder Ultimate Search 12.
Organisers said over 12,000 fans voted in the online poll, and Agbonile, a 32-year-old fitness trainer and model, polled 35.1 per cent to come first. Otu, the second contestant to make it through with the help of fans votes, is a 22-year-old athlete, and he polled 31.5 per cent of votes. Fitness instructor, Samson Abah, who polled 22.7 per cent, and Emmanuel Omoikhudu, with 10.6 per cent, did not make it.
Morgan stated that Osasere and Odudu would join the 16 other contestants announced at the selection party.
The 18 contestants will now start their Gulder Ultimate Search 12 journey following the confirmation of the two additional contestants, and the show would premiere on DStv and GOTV on Saturday, October 16, 2021. The show will air twice a week from October 16 to December 19, 2021.
