House of Representatives candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Isoko Federal Constituency, Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko has commiserated with the Okposo family, the people of Ivori-Irri, Deltans and Nigerians over the passing of renowned Isoko-born gospel singer, Sammie Okposo.

Ukodhiko in a condolence message at his Erawha-Owhe country home, expressed sadness over the passing of the foremost gospel singer, saying that it was a big loss to the deceased’s family, Deltans and lovers of gospel music all over the world.

According to him, the passing of Sammie Okposo was a big blow to music lovers, his family, the Ivori-Irri community and the Isoko Nation, considering his immense contributions to gospel music for over three decades.

Ukodhiko described the late Okposo as a proud ambassador of the Isoko nation who contributed to the growth and development of the industry.

“On behalf of my family, the people of Isoko Federal Constituency, I mourn the passing of an illustrious son of Isoko and a great minister in gospel music.

“The news of his death came to me as a great shock considering that we met not quite long at my Lagos home.

“He will be seriously missed in my campaign train as he had expressed intention to lead praises to God as we commence our campaigns for the Isoko Federal Constituency elections.

“He was indeed a valued asset to Deltans and Nigerians especially as his songs continue to inspire us to the service of God and humanity,” he said.

Ukodhiko prayed to God to accept the deceased’s soul and grant fortitude to his family and fans to bear the unfortunate demise.
