US Coronavirus Death Toll Reaches 1031

The casualty figures of the coronavirus pandemic in the United State of America has crossed over 1000.

New York has the highest figure of 285 deaths. The pandemic has led to the death of over 21,200 people around the world.

According to reports, there are over 470,000 diagnosed cases of the respiratory illness, spanning every continent except Antarctica.

The data compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University showed that with over 68,500 diagnosed cases, US has the third-highest national total behind Italy and China.

The virus has rapidly spread across the country, and Puerto Rico, killing at least 1,031 people.

Meanwhile, a U.S. Marine stationed at the Pentagon has tested positive for COVID-19. The index is the first Pentagon employee to do so. He is now in isolation at his home and his workspace has been cleaned.

Although 23,000 people normally work at the Pentagon, only 6,000 had been coming in with telework becoming the norm. That number had to be reduced following Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s additional restrictions.

Since the outbreak began, the U.S. has conducted 432,000 tests. This number according to
Vice President Mike Pence and White House health officials don’t include tests done by private labs and hospitals.

Dr. Deborah Brix, the White House’s coronavirus task force coordinator, said they are working to get more conducted.
