What You Do When You Can’t Sleep, According To Your Zodiac Sign

The stars know when you’re not sleeping.

Everybody’s had those nights where you toss and turn, subtracting each hour away from your total night’s sleep. Why does it seem to happen when you have some big event the next day where you need to feel great, well-rested, and ready to go? Not being able to sleep one night can morph into insomnia and the inability to sleep.

You may be one of those people who doesn’t need a lot of sleep, or you may need 13 hours if you want to function well. Either way, you need sleep and when you can’t fall asleep right away, it can be very frustrating.

Since the stars have so much to do with our personalities and behaviors, they influence how we react when we can’t fall asleep. Here’s what you do when you can’t get to sleep, according to your zodiac sign.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Aries will stay in bed with the lights off, fidgeting like a child in church, even when it’s clear that sleep is going to elude them for a while. Counting sheep seems so unoriginal, so they will try to come up with something else, like counting sloths. But it won’t work until they start counting them backward.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Taureans are patient and stubborn. If they’re supposed to be asleep, they will act as such and keep their eyes shut as tightly as possible. Unfortunately, the rest of their bodies will be pretty tight, too, and it will take even longer for them to relax enough to sleep.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Geminis love to talk and communicate, so when they can’t sleep they will go on . and see who else is up to get into a conversation with.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Cancers rarely have trouble sleeping, but when they do they take a bath and wash their sheets. There’s just something about falling into fresh sheets that helps one sleep. If they take a warm bath first, it’s even better.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Leos love to be in the spotlight, so when they can’t sleep they’re certainly not going to do it alone. They will hit social media hard. Unlike Gemini, they won’t limit their communication; they will Tweet about not sleeping, Instagram and even SnapChat their dilemma. The next day, they will have an amusing story about how they couldn’t sleep that will have everyone riveted.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Virgos give themselves about 15 minutes to fall asleep. And if it doesn’t happen, they will get up and read their poetry book.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

When a Libra can’t sleep, they will do the “can’t sleep math,” which goes something like this: “If I get to sleep now, I’ll have seven hours of sleep. If I go to sleep an hour from now, it will be six hours of sleep.”

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

Scorpios have a very s*xual nature, so if they can’t sleep they will usually self service or try to subtly wake their partner up to have s*x. The good thing is that s*x really does help the Scorpio to sleep; the bad thing is that afterward, their partner is still too wound up to sleep.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Sagittarians like to keep moving and keep their minds stimulated, so when they can’t sleep they will get up, walk around, or clean. And when they feel as if they’re getting sleepy, they will read for a bit.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

When a Capricorn can’t sleep, they will do whatever they can to make their room conducive for sleeping: adjust the thermostat, cover any red lights (computers, TVs), block out all noise, and turn off their phone. The next day, they will call their doctor and get a prescription for a sleeping pill, just in case.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

When Aquarians can’t sleep, they will use homeopathic remedies such as dabbing a little lavender oil on their wrists and neck, drinking Chamomile tea, and even curling and uncurling their toes.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Usually, Pisces has no trouble falling sleep as long as there’s either the sound of the sea or white noise. If they can’t get to sleep, they will analyze . dreams they’ve had. They will also take the hours of sleeplessness as a time to reflect on everything they feel grateful for.
