The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has condemned the alleged attack on his counterpart in Ekiti State, Governor Ayodele Fayose and some supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who took part in a rally at the state government house on Wednesday.
While condemning the alleged attack, he said it is a pointer to what Nigerians should expect in the build-up to the 2019 elections.
The Governor said this on Wednesday while addressing journalists at the Rivers State Government house in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

He also noted that his state may suffer the same fate, and therefore, called on the people to be alert.
Wike, however, urged the people of Ekiti State and supporters of the PDP not to allow the incident dampen their morale ahead of of Saturday’s governorship election.
