Last year, we saw Yemi Alade explore new R&B sounds in the romantic “How I Feel” and “Oh My Gosh” and “Number One”.
At the end of the year, Yemi Alade finally fused her old vibe with the new RnB sound in her final singles of the year giving us “Open Close” and “Oga”. Yemi takes no breaks and just when we thought she was done with her 2018 projects, she released the visuals for “Oga” two months after the audio track dropped.
In the accompanying Clarence Peters-directed video, Yemi acts as a ruler of multiple tribes – showing us she is a boss wherever she goes. The video starts with a hilarious skit in Yoruba featuring two warring Japanese factions – a nod to the funny Yoruba voiceovers of Bollywood and Chinese films. Next, we see her as a ruler of different groups of people – from a fearful mafia boss to an Emir.
The video boasts of an excellent wardrobe of the different cultures Yemi represents, including an impressive Benin costume.
