17-year-old secondary school student commits suicide in Kwara

A 17-year-old male identified as Adegoke Adeyemi, has committed suicide as his lifeless body was found dangling on a tree behind a hotel in Offa on Tuesday, August 2.

 

A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, says the Divisional Police Officer, Offa, at about 3.34pm on the said day received a report of a lifeless body of a body found dangling from a tree.

 

Ajayi stated that a team of policemen from the Divisional headquarters was swiftly drafted to the scene.

 

The victim who was later identified as Adegoke Adeyemi \’M\’ aged 17years, a student of Offa grammar school, who was believed to have hanged himself as a result of  his failure to pass his  promotion examination from SS1 to SS 2, which necessitated his being asked to repeat the class.

The corpse was removed and taken to General hospital Offa for autopsy, while investigation into the matter is ongoing.\’\’the statement in part read
