7 Wrestlers That Made It Worth The Time

\"\"
Growing up, many of us were huge wrestling fans and had our favorite wrestlers, although our parents and guardians never shared our interest in what they considered a dangerous and risky sport.

\"Wrestlers\"

For us however, this sport, whether scripted or real was enough to take away sleep from our eyes and keep us awake till late into the night.

To celebrate the ‘good ol days’, we decided to remember some big names in the wrestling scene from our years of growing up.

1. John Cena\"John

If you didn’t do the hand movement across your face and say, “You Can’t See Me”, the catchphrase from Cena and coincidentally the title of his 2005 rap album, you were not on the ‘in’ thing.

Cena was a unique wrestler, because of his shorts, T-shirt and cap which he wore to the ring. He was the poster boy of what WWE wanted to portray.

John Cena has won the WWE World Championship a total of 13 times, and also won the World Heavyweight Championship, a total of three times.

2. The Undertaker\"Wrestler\"

There’s definitely no way you do not remember The Undertaker. His wrestling was juxtaposed to the idea that he had supernatural powers that meant he had the keys to hell. He was literally feared by other wrestlers.

He was known for bringing a coffin to the ring, into which he dumped his opponents.

He also often worked with his ‘brother’, Kane; the two were nicknamed, ‘The Brothers of Destruction’.

3. Rey Mysterio\"\"

If you were thinking of one wrestler who has skills, then ‘El Nino’s, as he is fondly called was the man to watch out for.

Analysts opine that Rey was responsible for the popularization of the high-flying lucha libre wrestling style.

Before leaving the big ring and other wrestlers, Rey Mysterio won the 2006 Royal Rumble and is the 21st Triple Crown and 21st Grand Slam winner in WWE.

4. Hulk Hogan\"\"

Quite a number of us did not get the opportunity Hogan at the peak of his career, but IGN writes that, Hogan is “the most recognized wrestling star worldwide and the most popular wrestler of the 1980s.”

In  2005, Hogan among other wrestlers was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

5. Randy Orton\"\"

While many might not like Orton, there’s no denying that he was a talented wrestler. His disrespect was so much, he was given the alias, ‘The Legend Killer‘.

However, to prove his worth, he became the youngest world champion in WWE history after he won the World Heavyweight Championship at age 24.

6. Stone Cold Steve Austin\"\"

You remember the ‘What’? phrase in WWE? It was popularized by this bald man who was every bit of roughness you could think of. He was rude, brash, disrespectful, a drunk, but loved nonetheless.

He is however, one of the most decorated wrestlers from his time.

7. Shawn Michaels\"\"

He was also known as ‘Heartbreak Kid’ or ‘Mr. WrestleMania’.

He is a four-time world champion, having held the WWF Championship three times and WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship once. Indeed, a force to be reckoned with among wrestlers.
