Factual Pursuit of Truth for Progress

South Korea’s military said it had fired missiles from ground, sea and air in response to North Korea’s launch of a new intercontinental ballistic missile on Thursday in Japan.

Pyongyang has launched nearly a dozen weapon tests this year in an unprecedented spree in defiance of UN sanctions.

But long-range and nuclear tests such as the one conducted on Thursday have been paused since leader Kim Jong Un met then-US president Donald Trump for a bout of doomed diplomacy, which collapsed in 2020.

South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in said in a statement that, “Thursday’s launch was a breach of the suspension of intercontinental ballistic missile launches promised by Chairman Kim Jong Un to the international community.

Moghalu: Ex-Presidential Candidate’s Wife Knocked For Asking Investors To Stay Away From Lagos

Lifestyle Nigeria gathered that Maryanne, the wife of the presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party in the 2019 general elections, Kingsley Moghalu, has been heavily criticised for warning investors to stop investing in Lagos State.

This follows the recent demolition of a section of Landmark Beach, the Mami Chula Beach Lifestyle in the state, to pave the way for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

According to the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, the demolition began after he inspected kilometres 13, 16 and 20 to ensure the most economical and viable way to access the coastal roads without much damage.

He stressed that the demolition would affect several structures and added that compensation would be provided.

However, reacting to the demolition, Moghalu’s wife on Wednesday said investing in Lagos was at one’s own peril.

“Invest in Lagos at your own peril.

Outrage Greets Call By Obaseki’s Ally For Orbih’s Suspension – Lifestyle Nigeria

Outrage has emerged over the call by the Deputy National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Timothy Osadolor for the suspension from the party of the party’s powerful National Vice-Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Orbih over the issues in the Edo State chapter of the PDP.

Responding to the call made by Osadolor, the PDP Legacy Media Team in a statement made available to . accused the national officer of playing ostrich with his call noting his silence to the alleged betrayals of Governor Godwin Obaseki to agreements and issues affecting those the governor met in the party.

The Legacy PDP in its reaction said:

It did not come as a surprise reading the letter written by one Timothy Osadolor, who double as the Deputy National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, calling for the suspension of our  political leader, Chief Dan Osi Orbih, the PDP Vice Chairman, South South.

Ideally, we would have read his letter with passing laughter, but he will relish in his ill-manners and destitute upbringing if we do not respond appropriately to the cacaphony of his diabetic letter.

Timothy Osadolor, the side chic of the obvious sender of the errand, should know that if he must talk about those involved in anti-party activities, he should start with his mini-god, Obaseki. His Obaseki, since 2020 when he was rescued from his fledgling political life, has renegaded on all agreements he has entered with members of the PDP.

First, when the Party through former Governor Ortom Peace Committee shared the various legislative elective positions, and an agreement was reached in Abuja, which was well publicized, Obaseki completely disobeyed the Party.

Secondly, after the illegal impeachment of his deputy, Philip Shaibu, he went on to replace him with a Labour Party, LP, member, Marvellous Omobayo, who until recently when he was appointed, was a card carrying member of LP.

JUST IN: New Minimum Wage Will Take Effect From May 2024 – FG

Federal Government of Nigeria says although the Tripartite Committee On National Minimum Wage is yet to conclude its negotiations, workers will not lose anything as the new minimum wage will take effect from May 1, 2024.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that the Minister of State Labour, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, stated this on Wednesday while addressing Nigerian workers at the May Day celebration in Abuja.

She said it is regrettable that the new national minimum wage is not ready before today, but that a wide consultation is ongoing to ensure that the document is out together as soon as possible.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have at various times called on the administration of President Bola Tinubu to hasten the upward review of wage awards.

Of late, the Organised Labour demanded N615,000 as the new minimum wage for workers to cope with the many economic realities and high cost of living in Nigeria.

The labour unions said the current minimum wage of N30,000 can no longer cater for the wellbeing of an average Nigerian worker, lamenting that not all governors are paying the current wage award which expired in April, five years after the Minimum Wage Act of 2019 was signed by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Act is to be reviewed every five years to meet up with contemporary economic demands of workers.
