The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has announced a 66-member campaign council for the Osun State governorship election.

The council will be chaired by a former Minister of State for Education, Chief Kenneth Gbaji while Hon. Aliyu Wadada will be co-chairman.

According to the list released by the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabon, on Thursday, the committee has been saddled with the responsibility to ensure Goke Omigbodu’s emergence as governor.

Senator Duro Faseyi, Dr Umar Ardo and Chief Kunle Uthman are vice-chairmen 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

Rt Hon Mulikat Amanda will serve as secretary with former Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, one of the 60 committee members.

Omigbodun had earlier vowed to replicate Silicon Valley in the state to create jobs for the youth.

“For me, through my manifesto, MAT, Mining, Agriculture and Technology, we will ensure job creation and expand the net of tax payers,” he said during a debate which featured three other candidates including Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.

The election is scheduled for July 16.
