I can’t wait for Peter Obi to be Nigeria’s next President – Chimamanda Adichie breaks silence – Lifestyle

Glamsquad reports that Chimamanda Adichie, a renowned novelist, has stated that she cannot wait for Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, to become Nigeria’s next President.

Adichie made the remarks in a lengthy Facebook post on Mr Obi’s 61st birthday on Tuesday, saying she admires his passion for education.

“I can’t wait for February 25, 2023, when I will vote for you and your running mate, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, with personal pride in you and hope for what Nigeria can become,” Adichie wrote.

Chimamanda stated that Obi’s intellectual curiosity and genuine love for education have inspired her, proving his hope for Nigeria.

“I remember how you regaled Daddy and Mummy with your stories until we started joking about your obsession with Malaysia’s GDP,” she wrote in her post. Your obsession, on the other hand, spoke of hope: your hope for Nigeria, your belief in what Nigeria could be. A belief that has always been practical, based on facts and figures.”

The best-selling author also praised Obi for his generosity to humanitarian causes such as hospitals, schools, and churches, as well as his pragmatism.

“You’ve always been clear about your priorities, what matters to you, and what you believe should matter, which is admirable.”

“I’ve always admired your humane pragmatism and your ability to believe in certain ideals without becoming an ideologue,” she continued.

She praised the former Governor for his candor and willingness to admit flaws, calling him a good man.
