Farmers across villages in Plateau State are hopeful of a bumper harvest following regular rainfall after a long unstable spell.
Our correspondent reports that crops, especially cereals and grains, were severely affected by a dry spell in many parts of the state, with farmers lamenting the development.
But the recent wave of multiple downpours has re-ignited the farmers’ hope for a good harvest.
Yusuf Goga, a rice farmer in Yelwa town of Shendam LGA, expressed hope that the increase in heavy downpour has stimulated courage in farmers to cultivate more as the rainfall was a great signal for fine harvest.Â
