The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, yesterday, met a former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, behind closed doors in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Tinubu, in company of his team, met Obasanjo as part of his ongoing consultation and fence-mending process to actualise his presidential bid.Â
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, an APC chieftain, Bisi Akande, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, among others were in his entourage. Â
He was welcomed with funfair by his supporters and members of the party, including Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele and former governors, Olusegun Osoba and Gbenga Daniel.Â
The former Lagos state governor immediately went straight into a closed-door meeting with Obasanjo at the penthouse residence within the OOPL.Â
After the meeting, the APC candidate and his team went to the MKO Abiola Stadium also in the state capital, to grace this year’s Artisans’ Day celebration.Â
Obasanjo and Tinubu were known to be political foes, which dated back to their days as president and Lagos State governor respectively.Â
